A Romantic Suffolk Wedding with a Church Ceremony at Campsea Ashe
Lottie and James’ wedding day was the perfect blend of tradition, elegance and joy – a classic Suffolk wedding beginning with a heartfelt church ceremony and finishing with a relaxed, joyful celebration at Butley Priory.
Before heading to the church, Lottie spent the morning getting ready in Butley Priory’s beautiful upstairs bridal suite, one of the most light-filled spaces in the venue. The grand landing, with its tall windows and soft stone details, flooded the room with natural light – perfect for a calm, unhurried start to the day. Surrounded by her closest friends, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful as final touches were made. Lottie’s bright pink rose bouquet added the most striking pop of colour against her lace gown – bold, romantic and completely timeless, setting the tone for the elegant celebration that followed.
A Church Ceremony at Campsea Ashe
Lottie and James got married at Campsea Ashe Church, a charming country church just a short drive from Butley Priory. Surrounded by friends and family, Lottie and James exchanged vows in a setting that felt intimate, meaningful and deeply personal.
There were lots of emotional moments – from proud smiles as Lottie arrived, to joyful laughter as the couple made their way back down the aisle together as newlyweds. Outside, guests lined the path for a celebratory confetti exit before the couple climbed into a vintage car, ready to begin the next chapter of their day.
A Relaxed Reception at Butley Priory
Back at Butley Priory, the atmosphere shifted effortlessly into celebration mode. The historic stone architecture and manicured grounds provided the most beautiful backdrop for drinks, laughter and relaxed portraits.
Lottie looked incredible in her off-the-shoulder lace gown, paired with soft, romantic styling, while James’ classic tailoring felt perfectly suited to the timeless surroundings. Their bridal party – dressed in soft blush tones – brought such energy and fun to the afternoon, resulting in some of my favourite group moments of the day.
Dinner, Speeches & Evening Celebrations
The reception – long tables, candlelight and beautiful floral details in soft pinks and whites. Absolutely gorgeous. Speeches were heartfelt, funny and emotional in all the right places – the kind that have everyone laughing one moment and reaching for tissues the next.
Later, Lottie changed into a short evening dress and the celebrations really kicked off. From cake cutting with a sword to dancing, the evening was full of energy, laughter and unforgettable moments.
A Truly Joyful Suffolk Wedding
Lottie and James’ wedding was such a joy to photograph, relaxed, stylish. A church ceremony paired with a Butley Priory reception is always a winning combination, and their day was a perfect example of how beautifully the two settings complement each other.
