There’s something incredibly special about a summer wedding at Bruisyard Hall – the golden Suffolk light, the historic brickwork, the relaxed countryside feel. Heidi & Charley’s day was the perfect blend of elegant, laid-back and joyfully colourful, with vibrant florals, heartfelt speeches and golden hour portraits out in the fields. It was one of those weddings that feels effortlessly happy from start to finish.
The day began with bridal prep inside the bridal suite at Bruisyard Hall, where soft window light poured into the rooms and the atmosphere was calm but full of excitement. Heidi looked incredible in her Halfpenny London gown – modern, elegant and completely timeless – and her bridesmaids in soft blue dresses added the perfect contrast to the neutral tones of the venue.
One of my favourite moments from the morning was seeing Heidi’s bridesmaids react when she stepped into her dress – lots of laughter, a few emotional faces, and that lovely buzz that only wedding mornings have.
The florals were an absolute highlight of this wedding. Bursts of coral, peach, pink and soft yellow ran throughout the bouquets and table arrangements, bringing so much warmth and personality into the spaces. They worked beautifully against the rustic beams and neutral backdrop of Bruisyard Hall, creating a look that felt both relaxed and editorial.
From Heidi’s bouquet to the reception tables, every detail had been thoughtfully chosen, and it all tied together perfectly.
The ceremony took place inside the barn at Bruisyard Hall, surrounded by hanging greenery and their closest family and friends. It was personal, emotional and full of smiles, the kind of ceremony where you can really feel how much everyone cares about the couple. Charley’s reaction as Heidi walked down the aisle was one of those quiet, meaningful moments that say everything without needing words.
After the ceremony, guests lined up outside for a joyful confetti exit. And even better, Heidi & Charley’s dog was there to be part of the celebrations too, which was such a lovely, personal touch. Including pets in your wedding day always adds something extra special, and it was clear how much it meant to them to have their dog involved.
The wedding breakfast was followed by a set of genuinely great speeches. There were big laughs, a few emotional moments, and lots of proud smiles around the room. It’s always such a privilege to capture these reactions – the bride laughing at the top table, guests wiping away tears, and everyone fully present in the moment. Bruisyard Hall is such a beautiful space for speeches too – warm, light-filled and intimate, even with a full room.
As the evening light softened, we snuck out for golden hour portraits in the fields surrounding Bruisyard Hall – and honestly, they were magical. That warm summer glow, open space, and the two of them just enjoying being together… it was the perfect way to pause and soak it all in.
As the sun set, the evening celebrations kicked off with an energetic first dance and a packed dance floor. From emotional moments to full-on party energy, the evening had it all. It was one of those nights where the dance floor never really empties – always a good sign.
Heidi & Charley’s wedding was a beautiful example of what makes Bruisyard Hall weddings so special – relaxed countryside elegance, stunning spaces, and the freedom to truly make the day your own. From the colourful florals to the emotional speeches, their dog being part of the day and those dreamy golden hour portraits, every part of it felt personal and full of joy.
